Since its introduction this sophisticated scooter has established itself as one of the most popular choices in the important 3-wheel category, and the new 2026 model benefits from a wide range of stylistic and technical upgrades as well as a higher overall specification that reinforce its position as a premium urban commuter.
3-wheel layout for feelings of stability and confidence
The design of the new Tricity 300 is firmly focused on providing its rider with feelings of stability and confidence on a variety of road surfaces. Yamaha's patented LMW 3-wheel design is particularly attractive to many urban commuters – especially those customers who may be new to the world of scooters.
Dynamic new body design
The 2026 Tricity 300 has received a major restyle that projects a more dynamic and sophisticated look. The new front fairing features tighter and sharper lines that give a sportier image – and a new triple stack of LED position lights and a new LED taillight complement this 3-wheel scooter's futuristic cutting-edge appearance. Restyled sidepanels give a sharper look, and new graphics add to the more athletic look and feel of this premium urban commuter.
New connected TFT instruments
The 2026 Tricity 300 is equipped with an all-new 4.2-inch full colour TFT display on the right side and the 2.8-inch LCD readout on the left, offering smartphone connectivity, enabling riders to stay in touch. Another key feature is the addition of Garmin navigation to the new model, underlining the leading specification of this new generation LMW 3-wheel scooter.
High-tech braking system
The new Tricity 300 is equipped with a highly sophisticated braking system that features the same electronic technology used on Yamaha's top of the range Supersport machinery. The new cornering ABS system that helps to prevent accidental wheel lock-up when emergency braking while leaning through a corner, giving an enhanced feeling of confidence on wet or slippery surfaces – while Yamaha's Unified Braking System (UBS) adjusts balanced braking forces to all 3 wheels.
Sharper and slimmer bodywork
For 2026 the Tricity 300 has undergone a significant restyle that is focused on the front fairing. The newly designed front bodywork features tighter lines that project a slimmer face and highlight the dynamism of the two front wheels. The upper fairing or 'shoulder' area is also restyled for a more aerodynamic look, and the design of the lightweight bodywork around the screen is enhanced to emphasise the sharper looks of this premium urban commuter.
Premium cockpit design and natural riding position
Underlining its status as a premium commuter, the Tricity 300 cockpit design features a compact and user-friendly layout that has been inspired by the feel of a SUV. With its natural riding position, comfortable seat and intuitive controls, this 3-wheel urban commuter is ideal for existing scooter riders as well as B-licence car drivers looking for a better way to get to work.
Complementing the high-end cockpit design is a stepped dual seat that features high quality stitching that adds to the overall feeling of quality. The combination of relaxed ergonomics together with spacious legroom and wind beating bodywork gives a comfortable and relaxed ride, making the new Tricity 300 an attractive and realistic alternative to the car and public transport.
Futuristic new LED lighting
The slimmer and sharper look of the new front fairing is complemented by a new triple position lamp. Three individual vertically stacked position lamps help to achieve excellent visibility of the Tricity 300 and give a futuristic look that underlines the ongoing evolution of Yamaha's premium 3-wheel scooter.
The new LED taillight features a slim horizontal design with a 3-section layout that complements the 3 new front position lights and references the 3-wheel chassis, while at the same time reinforcing the high-tech character of this new model.
The new Tricity 300 is equipped with an ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) that activates the LED flashers at the front and rear when emergency braking occurs, alerting other road users that the machine is slowing down rapidly.
New cornering ABS
The Tricity 300 benefits from one of the most advanced braking designs in its class and is equipped with three 267mm disc brakes that benefit from new cornering ABS technology. This new high-tech cornering ABS features a BC (Brake Control) system that constantly analyses data from an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) to inhibit wheel lock and moderate chassis behaviour, especially during emergency braking while the machine is leaning in a corner.
The Tricity 300 also benefits from Yamaha's UBS (Unified Brake System) that automatically balances front and rear braking, giving an enhanced feeling of riding confidence. When the rider operates only the rear brake or both the front and rear brakes together, the UBS automatically balances the braking forces to the front and rear wheels.
The combination of the new cornering ABS together with the UBS – as well as the Traction Control System (TCS) – helps to prevent wheel lock up when braking and rear wheel spin when accelerating, ensuring that the Tricity 300 owner experiences a smooth and confident ride over a variety of road surfaces and in varying weather conditions.
Leaning Multi-Wheel (LMW) technology
Yamaha's Leaning Multi-Wheel (LMW) technology plays a key role in delivering a premium ride quality together with excellent roadholding and sure-footed cornering. First used on the Yamaha NIKEN, this patented system features a parallelogram link that ensures both the front wheels follow a smooth concentric path when the Tricity 300 rides through a turn.
The design of the LMW system also achieves a front wheel lean angle that matches the banking angle of the chassis, giving high levels of traction for a feeling of confidence when cornering – and with its 2 front wheels, riders benefit from high levels of feedback and feeling of stability.
4.2-inch TFT dashboard with smartphone connectivity
The 2026 Tricity 300 comes with a newly designed 4.2-inch full colour TFT dashboard on the right side and a 2.8-inch LCD readout on the left. The new dash enables smartphone connectivity and once the rider has downloaded the MyRide app they can view email and SMS notifications as well as listen to music, answer incoming calls and access a variety of riding and trip data.
Garmin navigation via smartphone
The Tricity 300 now offers free Garmin navigation via smartphone. Once the rider has downloaded the Garmin StreetCross app they can access a user friendly interface with road, weather and POI information. Riders can benefit from live traffic information and also take advantage of the many other features associated with Garmin StreetCross.
Standing Assist System
The Tricity 300's Standing Assist enables the scooter to be kept upright when stationary with minimal input from the rider's legs and feet. The system can be turned on and off with a switch, and as well as providing assistance when the scooter is not moving at a junction or traffic lights, Standing Assist can also be activated when push walking the bike to a parking space or garage.
EURO5+ Blue Core 292cc engine
For smooth and responsive performance, the Tricity 300 is powered by a 292cc liquid cooled 4-stroke SOHC engine driving through a stepless CVT automatic transmission. This EURO5+ compliant engine has been developed with Yamaha's Blue Core technology that delivers the highest levels of running efficiency together with reduced emissions and lower fuel consumption.
Featuring an offset DiASil cylinder that gives excellent heat dissipation, as well as a single axis balancer, specially shaped combustion chamber and high efficiency cooling system, this compact engine delivers strong acceleration with low running costs.
For 2026 the engine is equipped with a new muffler featuring a revised catalyser layout that reduces emissions to EURO5+ levels and weighs 800g less.
Parking brake & foot brake
For added security when parked the Tricity 300 is equipped with a ratchet type lever, and the handlebar-mounted front and rear braking system is complemented by a footbrake.
Large 14-inch wheels
Large 14-inch wheels are amongst the biggest in the category, and they give the Tricity 300 an athletic and dynamic look that reinforces its premium status in the 3-wheel scooter class. Fitted with 120/70-14 front tyres and a wide 140/70-14 rear tyre, these large diameter wheels contribute towards the scooter's excellent ride quality and confident roadholding, even on uneven surfaces such as cobblestones.
Excellent autonomy
Yamaha's advanced Blue Core technology enables the Tricity 300 to achieve high levels of running efficiency with minimal fuel consumption and the large 13 litre fuel tank gives plenty of riding range between fuel stops.
Plenty of storage space
With 45 litres of illuminated storage space under the seat it is possible to carry 2 full-face helmets** when parked as well as a range of personal property when on the move. Both models feature a USB-C 5v/3A port located in the front right of the cockpit and the Tricity 300 (non-airbag model) is fitted with a front central storage compartment that is a convenient place for carrying various smaller items.
Smart Key operation
The Tricity 300 has been designed to give urban commuters one of the most comfortable, efficient and enjoyable riding experiences. The Smart Key system is another feature that makes every journey that little bit easier. As long as the rider has the Smart Key with them, they can operate the Tricity 300 using the main switch that is now located in the front right of the cockpit below the USB-C port.
Prewired for heating accessories
Yamaha's Genuine Accessories line includes a range of heating accessories such as grip and seat warmers that make the Tricity 300 a true year-round commuter. To facilitate the fitment of these accessories, the machine is prewired for these products, making it much easier for owners to upgrade their 3-wheel scooter for the colder weather.
